Mission:
A Shared Initiative, Inc. (ASII) was formed to expand anti-poverty programs initially designed by ASI Federal Credit Union, a community development financial institution, serving predominately low-income individuals and families. Since Hurricane Katrina hit, a vast majority of area residents have fallen upon financial hardship to an extent that is hardly imaginable. ASII is committed to being a part of the rebuilding and recovery process for those hit hardest by this devastating storm. Currently, ASII hosts a comprehensive counseling program that incorporates credit, housing and foreclosure counseling as well as financial education; and a small business lending program for disadvantaged businesses.
ASII’s mission is to assist the rebuilding efforts of families and communities by providing affordable home ownership opportunities and expanding access to vital community services.
