To preserve the identity of the community through organized meetings.

To protect the neighborhood from abrupt or sudden changes from outside developers without knowledge or input of the residents.

To provide information to residents of any changes being made in the neighborhood regarding homeownership, investment developers or non-community entities.

Pilotland was owned by the Pailet Family; sometimes spelled Paillet but always pronounced “Pilot or Pi-lay Land or Lane”, by the community members for over one hundred years. Our association is highly involved in eradicating the blight situation in this area and reporting streets and lights in need of repair. We’ve conducted numerous “walk through” with the locals and city officials, in an effort to rebuild this area into a vibrant community.

Working closely with our Director of Constituent Services, Enrico Sterling of Councilmember Susan Guidry’s office, District A and our Neighborhood and Constituent Services Rep. Tina Metoyer of Councilmember Hedge-Morrell’s office, District D; Pilotland will become a vital part of Rebuild New Orleans.

The association is involved in the Neighborhood Watch Program and the Annual Night Out Against Crime.
