Mission: The Pontilly Association is a 501 c (4) non profit that helps to maintain the character of the Pontchartrain Park and Gentilly Woods communities for more then twenty-five years. The Association served as the neighborhood association for the Pontchartrain Park and Gentilly Woods communities. The past activities included monthly meetings of area residents to discuss community issues such as housing, crime, airport control, zoning and to enforce the restrictive covenant. After Katrina the role of the organization expanded to include creating a Planning Collaborative to develop a rebuilding plan for Pontchartrain Park and Gentilly Woods.

Initiatives: The future will involve working with the plan that was developed by working with other groups, The Pontilly Community Plan and organizing activities to assist residents to return home. Towards that end, we have created the Pontilly Disaster Collaborative which is an unincorporated 501 c (3) to finance through grants disaster repair and address problems affecting the Potchartrain Park and Gentilly Woods Communities.

Needs: A major need is to continue the Disaster Recovery Center which was established and opened to provide counseling and technical assistance to Pontilly residents.
