ECFLF conducts most of its work in Central City. All Central City residents qualify for full, free membership at Mahalia Jackson Center. All others qualify for other free types of memberships. All are welcome. ECFLF turns next to Treme as part of the Iberville/Treme Transformation Plan of HUD’s Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (Choice) Grant.

Mission:

ECFLF conducts most of its work in Central City, New Orleans. ECFLF is heaquartered at its pilot project, Mahalia Jackson Center, which provides top level birth-to-five early education, complemented by many services for children and their families, all under one roof. Services include adult education, job training and placement, teen parenting, prenatal care, medical, nutrition, fitness and other health services, social services including WIC and nutrition assistance, a public library branch, and more. ECFLF also focuses on holistic care for the Central City community and schools, and adds Treme to the focus as part of the Iberville/Treme Transformation Plan of HUD’s Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (Choice) Grant.To request more information and to learn about volunteer and employment opportunities, call 504-359-6802.
