Expanding to Enrich...

The Infinity Initiative is excited about expanding the scope of its efforts! “We believe that every young lady deserves an opportunity to make a quality decision about what she’s going to do with her life,” says Sheryl Landry, Founder of The Infinity Initiative. “It’s important that they know that they have opportunities and that they are taught how to extend their reach beyond their present circumstances and beyond their past experiences.”

Throughout the Summer of 2010, Landry and Infinity’s Board of Directors began conducting needs assessments and researching demographics in an effort to apply for federal grants. During their research, it was found that several communities in Fulton and Gwinnett Counties (Georgia) had similiar negative statistics. Landry notes, “Louisiana has been plagued with negative statistics and pervasively ranks last…I want to be able to do something about how those negative statistics impact our girls’ lives in the present and show them that they don’t have to live up to that negativity.”

Thanks to their research, The Infinity Initiative has made a decision to expand its efforts to enrich the lives of teens and young women to North Fulton County, Georgia. The new Georgia branch will be based in Sandy Springs, Ga.; northeast of Atlanta and will be launching its first programs in January of 2011.
