The Neighborhoods Partnership Network Board of Directors is composed of residents from across the city who are involved and engaged in the revitalization of their individual neighborhoods while also addressing citywide issues.
Victor Gordon, Pontilly Association - Chair
Victor Gordon is the president of the Pontilly Neighborhood Association (PNA) and serves as Vice President of the Gentilly Civic Improvement Association (GCIA). He is actively collaborating with the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) to find housing solutions that will allow the repopulation and revitalization of the community. Gordon has considerable work experience in New Orleans schools as assistant principal at Martin Behrman Elementary School, and L.B. Landry and McDonogh #35 High Schools. As a civic leader, Gordon also serves on the boards of the Dryades YMCA, the Orleans Public Education Network (OPEN) and Total Community Action, Inc.
Ryan Albright
Originally from Coldwater, Michigan, Ryan Albright has live New Orleans for the past three years with his new wife, Madison. Most recently, he was the Metropolitan Opportunity Program Officer at the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) where his work revolved around three major areas of focus: access to quality affordable housing, innovation in metropolitan land-use and assess to economic opportunity including transportation. As a funder, Ryan managed a portfolio of grant funds from the Ford Foundation and invested more than $5 million in the Greater New Orleans region. He has more than ten years of city and community planning experience ranging from his time as a coordinator for economic development for a nonprofit to his position as a planner with the City of Houston. He has also worked on Brownfield projects in Germany. Ryan holds a bachelor of arts degree in public administration and public policy and master's degree in urban and regional planning, both from Michigan State University.
Karen Chabert, Irish Channel
Karen Chabert, a 20+ year resident of the Irish Channel, is originally from Bayou Lafourche and moved to New Orleans to attend Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She is a community activist who assisted with the revitalization of that neighborhood. Her energies are focused on Crime Prevention, Safety and Quality of Life. Working as a School Nurse, she is interested in the successful education of students in Orleans Parish. Ms. Chabert has considerable work experience in Health Care and Trauma Services. Recently selected to be a member of the Police and Citizen Community Advisory Board which was mandated by the US Department of Justice as part of the NOPD Consent Decree, she is also active on other boards in the city and state. In addition, Ms. Chabert volunteers with the homeless population of New Orleans.
Wendy Laker, Mid-City Neighborhood Organization
Wendy Laker is a resident of the Mid-City neighborhood. She is the chairwoman of the Mid-City Neighborhood Organization Board, as well as a member of the judicial system where she serves in the capacity of a court reporter.
Katherine Prevost, Bunny Friends Neighborhood Association
A 50-year resident of New Orleans, La, Katherine Prevost is the president of the Bunny Friend Neighborhood Association (BFNA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on providing information resources to residents, assisting in rebuilding and helping residents with their unique recovery processes. Located in the Upper 9th Ward, BFNA has an ongoing beautification project and works diligently to improve recreational and educational opportunities for our youth. This association has partnered with other organizations to help rebuild our neighborhood, including: The Mennonites, Hands On, Catholic Charity, and Idea Village.
Sylvia Scineaux-Richard, ENONAC
Sylvia Scineaux-Richard has been president of Eastern New Orleans Neighborhood Advisory Commission (ENONAC) since 2008. In May 2009, Scineaux-Richard retired from the Southern University at New Orleans after 30 years as an assistant professor in medical technology. Scineaux-Richard has also worked as a real estate associate broker for 30 years.
