Unnatural Causes: In Sickness and In Wealth

Unnatural Causes

Social policy is health policy. As a part of its Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative, NPN's Capacity College presents parts of Unnatural Causes Video Series: a seven-part documentary series exploring racial and socioeconomic inequalities in health.

In Sickness and In Weath explores the connections between healthy bodies, healthy bank accounts and skin color. Follow four individuals from different walks of life to see how their positions in society - shaped by policies and public priorities - affect their health.

Challenging the nation’s approach to prevention, which is limited to encouraging healthy behaviors and managing individual risks, UNNATURAL CAUSES spotlights the growing body of evidence demonstrating the need for more “upstream policies that provide everyone the opportunity for good health."
